Even without films from the iTunes store I am finding that there is lots to like about my Apple TV: (1) a great way to view my own slide shows and home movies which are otherwise bottled up in my computer; (2) a cool way to access and scroll through my computer's iTunes song choices, right on the TV screen; (3) a great platform for my other media. For example use TubeSock to download stand-alone copies of films on YouTube and present them on Apple TV.

The song goes the "land of the free and the home of the brave" not home of the free and land of the brave.

This seems to be impossible, since paypal is not a payment option for people here in Denmark :S

Any sugestions?

Some sites let you download music and movies for free. It may be illegal, but so is this.

I don't believe this will work as paypal verifies the billing address of the credit card to ensure it is real. If you opt to use a different billing address to the one you registered your paypal account against, it does not let you change your country from the US. It is a catch-22. Bad advice!

Didn't work for me. Didn't like the fact that my Paypal account is linked to the UK.

Wouldn't mind advice on how to get a U.S. credit card tho.

Does not work!

Unless paypal works differently in Australia, it will not work.

When you create an account, all addresses, including credit card addresses, must be of the same country.

There is no way of doing this on paypal in Canada.

DOES WORK!

People are saying this doesn't work because "When you create an account, all addresses, including credit card addresses, must be of the same country." PayPal claims that it checks your address against your credit card address, but it obviously doesn't because if you stick with 1 Infinite Loop as your billing address it still works.

Why doesn't Apple just open up to everybody who have money? Wouldn't it be better to have a market with 7 billion customers instead of market with less than 1 billion customers?
I would be more than happy to pay apple for music, videos and games, but they don't want my money because I live in Estonia.

Doesn't work for me: I can define a Paypal account with a billing address in the US, but then when I try to attach an european Amex or Visa, Paypal refuses immediately,
saying it cannot verify the billing address.
And a credit card must be attached to the Paypal account, otherwise when iTunes checks the Paypal account it doesn't accept it.

Any idea ?

It obviously works for some people, my guess is that PayPal only bothers to verify billing addresses when it detects a credit card come from certain countries. People seem to have luck with buying vouchers, that might be a better option.

isn't crazy that although EU citizens want to spend their money on ITMS, they can't do it... and after all what we have to revert to is downloading movies in other ways!!

RIDICULOUS :o(

Erm... to all those people having troubles with cards... do you HAVE to associate your Paypal account with a card? Can't you just use your non-US paypal account and send yourself some money?
04/03/08 @ 12:30
Comment from: Anya [Visitor] Email
Ah. Bugger. You do need to have a *US* card associated with it, according to this message from Paypal I have here. And Paypal isn't accepting a US billing address on a UK card (obviously) and it isn't even letting me associate a non-US address with the card.

All in all, there is no way this works any more.

Trying buying a US iTunes store gift voucher, I'm told that still works. You probably can't get Apple to deliver them outside the US, but there are plenty of other ways to get them.

The solution is www.itunesplanet.com . You can buy US iTunes Voucher codes (the code you reveal when you scratch a pre-paid card), this guys send it to you PayPal registered email adress and you can open (if you already don`t own a US iTunes account) and download your favourite stuff from the US iTunes store as an US citizen.

Great prices, great service.
