2B or not 2B, that is the question
By David HAGUE
Creativity comes and goes. I guess it’s a bit like comedians; everyone expects them to be funny all the time, but like creativity, comedy can’t be switched on and off at will.
I know all about humour having lost mine last night after some serious back spasms forced the horizontal position for a number of hours followed by painful physio to unlock – at least for a while – the offending discs each fighting the other for the one piece of cartilage. Or that’s what it felt like. Consequently, my daily grind including this blog post has suffered somewhat and apologies for that.
The other thing it did, for a longer period of time than is normal, is it released me from a keyboard. It’s hard to type in the prostrate position. But I could write. So armed with a notebook, a couple of pencils and highlighters, I wrote (remember that word kiddies, it might not appear again for a while!) out some ideas and plans for the future of Australasian Camcorder, PC Update and other new publications / projects I have in mind.
Despite not having ‘written’ for a while – apart from cheques and they don't count – I could still easily decode my scrawl. A victory for good education if there ever was one. It felt good too, much more satisfying than say, dictating.
Go on! Can you still write and write legibly? Have a try, I dare you. And I bet you a 2B you’ll probably enjoy it.
Now, back to the Neurofen and contemplating another physio bashing tomorrow ....
