What will you carry at the end?
By Anthony CARUANA
All this talk of Swiss scientists trying to replicate events after the big bang and Apple's newest iPods has got me thinking - what mobile device would I want at the end of the world?
There are a few candidates but one really stands out - the iPhone. You see, with the iPhone I could keep track of Armageddon Status with one of the inevitable Armageddon Countdown timers that would sprout on the web (no doubt created with some Google Ads in place in case predictions of the end of the world are incorrect).
I could chill with some music, take some photos and send them to my friends and family and call all the people I've been meaning to call but have put off. When I'd done that, i could settle into a came of Texas Hold 'Em, play some Super Monkeyball and then look back at some family snaps.
One of the new iPod nanos, with the shake and shuffle feature that uses the nano's accelerometer, might look good but if the end of the world involves violent shaking then having your tracks shuffle might get a tad annoying.
Yeah - the iPhone could just be the perfect handheld to have at The End of Days.
