Mobile Apps get Leopardised
It's been a couple of weeks since the release of Leopard and while I don't want to steal any of the new Mac column's thunder it's worth catching up on a couple of great apps that mobile Mac users need to consider.
Both of the apps I'm going to look at are from Nova Media. One is a favourite of mine that's just been updated for Leopard - Launch2Net. This is a connection client with logging facilities for helping you track mobile Internet usage from either mobile phone connected to your portable Mac of from a mobile broadband service.
The other app is one I've only just started using called FoneLink. One of Leopard's new "features" is the loss of the ability to make calls directly from Address Book via Bluetooth. FoneLink allows you send SMS from your Mac as well as sync multimedia files created on your phone, iTunes music (that's DRM free) and make regular backups of your phone's data.
